Easy & Yummy Chestnut Mug Cake

Chestnuts are almost in season! Truth be told, I’m kind fascinated by this nut. Commonly used to stuff the Thanksgiving turkey, it’s also delicious when it is part of a dessert.

I wanted to share with you a simple but oh-so-yummy recipe to celebrate any rainy or freezing day: Chestnut mug cake! It is so easy, that all you need is 5 minutes and a microwave to indulge in a delicious, yet very nutritious mug cake.

As the main ingredient, I used the cute metal tube from the French Breakfast Box that contains a sweet and creamy chestnut spread. For more than 130 years, Clément Faugier has seduced the French palates with its emblematic candied chestnut spread.

Preparation time : 2 min
Cooking time : 3 min

Ingredients for 2 mug cakes

4 tablespoons Chestnut spread from Clément Faugier
1 tablespoon flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon milk
1 egg
1 pinch baking soda

Preparation

1. Melt the butter in a bowl

2. Start by adding the Chestnut Spread, and then add milk, sugar, flour and finally egg, mixing between each ingredient.

3. Pour the batter into half of the mug. Microwave until the dough rises at the top of the mug. Let it drop and microwave again until puffed, about 30 seconds.

4. Enjoy it like this or add any toppings you’d like: caramel sauce, vanilla whipped cream or a scoop of ice-cream.

Bon Appétit!
