On July 14, France is celebrating Bastille Day, better known as le Quatorze Juillet (the fourteenth of July); so break out your blue, white and red (again!). However it is called, all of the names refer to the French National Day which commemorates the storming of the Bastille on July 14 1789.

The Kir Royal, made with Champagne is an elegant variation of the traditional Kir. This iconic French cocktail is crisp, refreshing and perfect to celebrate.
Here’s the recipe of the Kir Royal made with a French Champagne. We love its golden robe lits up with a generous string of fine and dancing bubbles.
Ingredients
Chilled Champagne
Crème de cassis or blackcurrant liqueur
Fresh berries
Preparation
- Just before serving pour 1 tablespoon crème de cassis or blackcurrant liqueur into each glass.
- Top with chilled Champagne
- Garnish with fresh berries
