5 of the most creepy places in Paris

Posted by Lifestyle Blogger on

Although Halloween isn’t celebrated as it is here in the US, in France, there are certainly a few spots that can make your hair stand. For the adrenaline seekers, Paris would be a good starting point. The team at Bon Appetit Box came up with a list of 5 creepiest spots in the City of Light to bookmark for your next visit! Also take a look at best patisseries & bakeries in Paris

1. Paris Catacombs
The Paris catacombs dates back to the 18th century, where skeletal remains from the Les Innocents cemetery and those who lost their lives during the French Revolution find their final resting place. Visitors can walk through tunnels of over 6 million skulls, but don’t wander too far off as this maze of a chamber has taken many lost guests.

2. Museum of Vampires
Proudly bearing the title of being the only museum in the world dedicated to vampires, this small and private exhibition features all things vampires, folklore, and other legendary creatures. Satisfy your interest of mythology through the carefully curated collection- maybe you’ll also spot a mummified cat!

3. Notre Dame de Paris
This magnificent Gothic cathedral was built between the 12th and 14th century and is the official seat of the Archbishop of Paris. One can feel free to roam the interior covered in stained glass, or check out the gargoyles sitting atop of the basilica. Just don’t do it at night!

4. Museum of the History of Medicine
Featuring artifacts as far back as the 18th century, Le Musee d’histoire de la Medecine is as informative as it is spooky. The display boasts a collection filled with old surgical devices, medical instruments, and oh yeah, a table designed with real human body parts with a foot as centerpiece. Not for the faint-hearted.

5. Dans le Noir
For those who aren’t into the gory and creepy stuff but still has that itch for excitement, the Dans le Noir will do the trick. This peculiar restaurant offers no lighting, therefore your entire dining experience will be in pitch black and you’ll have to use your other 4 senses to guide you- it’s harder than you’d think.

Voilà!
